Our members are professional and amateur storytellers, poets, actors, and others who benefit by the study of the art of storytelling and whose pleasure it is to practice this ancient art. Both experienced storytellers and newcomers are welcomed.
The Guild was started in 1998 to promote the art of storytelling in the Lehigh Valley, and to refine the member's storytelling skills. We have presented numerous showcases, appeared at festivals, conducted story swaps and workshops. We usually meet at Godfrey Daniels Listen Club on the second Wednesday of each month (Except August. Check Godfrey’s schedule.)
We have two levels of membership:
Story telling members: ($50/year). This group is for people who have a desire to tell professionally and receive Guild promotion. They will receive the newsletter (to be developed), a listing on our website (with a link to their website if they have one or we will create a page for them on our site), eligibility to tell at Guild’s events (e.g. Children’s Series), email alerts for possible gigs, plus first chance to sign-up for workshops and register for Fusion.
Story loving members: ($25/year). This group will be individuals who love stories but don’t see themselves as tellers. They will receive the Guild’s newsletter plus first chance to sign-up for workshops and register for Fusion
Dues will be collected every year on February 1st, so that members will have had a month to absorb the pain of holiday bills. We will also offer a special, half year memberships for new members only, that would start on July 1st and end January 31st.
